Professor Hongming Xu is a Professor of Energy and Automotive Engineering and Head of the Vehicle and Engine Technology Centre at the University of Birmingham. He holds a Chair in Energy and Automotive Engineering and directs the Birmingham CASE Automotive Research and Education Centre. With 6 years of industry experience at Jaguar Land Rover and Ford, his research focuses on synergies between fuel, propulsion, and after-treatment technologies for cleaner vehicles, emphasizing AI-driven control systems and electrified powertrains.
