Dr. Hongjie Wang is an Associate Professor of History at Georgia Southern University's Armstrong campus, affiliated with the Department of History within the College of Arts and Humanities. He has been in this position since 2008.

His research interests focus on Chinese Political History and Food Culture, with current projects exploring Literati in Tenth-Century China and the History of Sichuan Cuisine. He teaches courses on Traditional China, Modern Japan, and Contemporary China.
Publications emphasize late imperial Chinese political dynamics and cultural contexts, with recent work on the Five Dynasties period. He advises the Armstrong Undergraduate Journal of History and co-founded the Five Dynasties Studies Group.
Professional activities include editorial roles and interdisciplinary collaborations. His office is located in Hawes 104B.
