Professor Hong Ying-yi is the Choh-Ming Li Professor of Management and Associate Dean (Research) at the Faculty of Business Administration, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). A globally renowned expert in culture and cognition, multicultural identity, intergroup relations, and cultural neuroscience, she has taught at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Nanyang Technological University.

Her research investigates multicultural influences on psychological processes, including identity formation during sociopolitical transitions, intergroup dynamics in refugee crises, and sociocultural norm learning mechanisms. The Culture Lab under her direction employs pluralistic methods such as experimental priming, longitudinal studies, and behavioral games.
Recent publications address Hong Kong's 2019 unrest, stress reactivity in sociocultural adaptation, and refugee-related threat perceptions. Awards include Fellow of the Asian Association of Social Psychology, RGC Senior Research Fellow, and Stanford's CASBS fellowship. She has edited influential volumes like The Oxford Handbook of Multicultural Identity and advised international research panels (OECD PISA, Singapore ETH-Centre).
