Professor Hong Bo is a faculty member at the School of Finance and Management, SOAS University of London. Holding a PhD in Economics from the University of Groningen, she previously served as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics, University of Groningen (1999–2004) and has held academic leadership roles including Associate Dean at SOAS (2016–2019). Her research focuses on financial economics, particularly firm investment decisions under uncertainty, capital market imperfections, and corporate governance in China.

She maintains an active role in academic management and global finance research via the AXA Chair in Global Finance.
