Hollie Gardner is a Lecturer in the Center for Integrated Design at the University of Texas at Austin. She is the founder of Gardner AI Insights, which provides AI workshops, data science services, and UX design consulting. She also serves as a strategic advisor to transform.forward, a higher education consultancy. Previously, she spent ten years at Southern Methodist University (SMU) Libraries as Director of Strategic Initiatives and User Experience Librarian, driving UX improvements in discovery systems, website development, and service optimization. She spearheaded diversity initiatives as SMU Libraries' inaugural diversity officer.
Her educational background includes a Master’s in Data Science (SMU), a Master’s in Library Science (University of North Texas), a Bachelor’s in Music (University of North Texas), and an honorary MA in Design and Innovation (SMU). Her research focuses on AI model design ethics, societal perception of AI, and combating misinformation through interface strategies.
