Holger Herma

apl. Prof. Dr. Holger Herma is an Associate Professor in Sociology at the University of Hildesheim, affiliated with the Institute for Social Sciences and the Department of Sociology. His research focuses on microsociology, sociology of the subject, and habitus analysis, with a specific emphasis on digital media communication and symbolic practices. He leads the DFG project "On the Analytical Potential of Qualitative Longitudinal Interviews in Empirical Socialization Research" and contributes to projects on solidarity discourses, educational inequality, and digital transformation. Herma has been recognized for teaching excellence, particularly during his acting professorship at Chemnitz University of Technology.
