Professor Hoe Tan is a faculty member in the Department of Electronic Materials Engineering at The Australian National University. He holds a PhD in Materials Engineering (1997) and a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (1992). His research focuses on nanowire-based optoelectronics, semiconductor materials, and energy storage systems. Key areas include quantum dot integration, infrared photodetection, and metasurface engineering. He has supervised numerous research students and leads projects on nanowire lasers, electrochemical energy storage, and quantum device development.
