Hoda Asgarian is a Semester Teaching Fellow and Research Assistant at the Faculty of Law, Bond University, Australia. She is also a Doctor of Philosophy candidate at the same faculty, focusing on comparative climate change mitigation strategies and climate justice in Iran and Australia. Her research interests include environmental law, maritime law, biodiversity, human rights, and climate change. She bridges her 15 years of practical legal experience with academic inquiry to address global challenges like climate change and environmental degradation, contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 13 (Climate Action) and 14 (Life Below Water).
Hoda's publications span maritime law, biodiversity, climate change, and human rights. She actively participates in the Climate Action Legal Research Team (2024–2025), collaborating with experts such as Dr. Natalie James and Prof. Richard Thomas. Her work emphasizes the intersection of law, sustainability, and international cooperation.
Her media contributions, including the 2024 article 'Climate Change is a Human Rights Issue' with David Kuan-Wei Chen, highlight her advocacy for legal accountability in environmental justice. She teaches core law subjects and fosters an inclusive learning environment.
