Prof. Hiranya Sahoo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He holds a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences from the University of New Orleans, USA, awarded in 2013. His research spans diverse areas such as Petrology, Geochemistry, Groundwater, and Planetary Science, along with expertise in Active Tectonics, Geochronology, Earth Surface Dynamics, and Structural Geology/Rock Physics.
