Deepa Mele Veedu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. She holds a PhD from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2019), with a thesis focused on Integrated Mineralogy & High Resolution Geologic Context of Lunar Impact Melt Deposits. Her research integrates planetary geology, remote sensing, and Earth science.
- Research Focus: Planetary geological remote sensing, visible/near-IR mineral mapping, lunar crustal diversity, impact cratering, and comparative planetology.
- Key Projects: Analysis of lunar swirls, Mg-spinel distribution studies, and spectral characterization of Enceladus plumes.
Selected Publications highlight trends in lunar impact melt analysis, mineral abundance estimation via spectroscopy, and planetary surface dynamics. Her work spans spectral data validation, geological mapping, and instrumental calibrations for lunar exploration.
