Hilmi Özen, born January 27, 1944 in Nicosia, serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Theatre at Near East University's Faculty of Performing Arts. He is the founder of the TRNC State Theatres and held leadership roles including Director of Cyprus Turkish State Theatres (1967-1990), Cultural Attaché in Istanbul (1990-1992), and Public Relations and Arts Advisor to the TRNC President (1992-2005).
