Dr. Hillary Pimlott is a Professor of Communication Studies at the Faculty of Arts, Wilfrid Laurier University. She is cross-appointed as a Member of the MA Cultural Analysis and Social Theory program, the Women & Gender Studies Program, and the Laurier Centre for Community Research, Learning & Action.
Her research focuses on the intersections of
- democracy and communication (language, media)
- culture wars and political discourse
- anti-Trans language and media politics
- 'Cultural Marxism' critiques
- free speech debates and moral panics
- economic inequality in social movements
- public advocacy and alternative media
