Hillary Hayes

Hillary Hayes is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP). She is a photographer and media consultant, operating HD Photography & Design, which serves local non-profits, political organizations, and international NGOs. Her research includes a master’s thesis titled *“History of Journalism Education: An Analysis of 100 Years of Journalism”* completed at Louisiana State University (LSU), where she also worked in the Reilly Center for Media & Public Affairs. Hayes graduated from UNCP’s Honors College in 2012 with a double major in Journalism and Broadcasting.

During her time at UNCP, she contributed to *The Pine Needle* student newspaper, *Professional Profiles* magazine, and WNCP-TV studio series. Her work bridges academic research and applied media practices, focusing on historical trends in journalism education and contemporary media communication strategies.
