Hilde Wøien is a Professor at the Department of Public Health and Interdisciplinary Health Sciences, University of Oslo, with a focus on intensive care pain treatment, sedation, delirium, and implementation research. She leads interprofessional education (SamPraks) initiatives across six faculties, emphasizing collaborative learning.
Academic background includes a PhD (2013) on systematic ICU pain management, a Master's in Nursing Science (2003) on nutritional support algorithms, and foundational training as an intensive care nurse (1990).
Research interests span:
- Critical care patient comfort (pain, sedation, delirium)
- Implementation science using digital platforms like Facebook
