Hilary Sears is a Visiting Fellow and International Advisory Board Member at Cranfield School of Management, Cranfield University, and serves as a Trustee of Leonard Cheshire. With a 25-year executive search career at Korn Ferry and AT Kearney, she specializes in board assessments, talent management, and advancing women's leadership.
Her educational background includes:
- BSc (Hons) in Economics from University College London (UCL), where she holds an Honorary Fellowship
- MBA from Cranfield School of Management
- MSc in Coaching and Behavioural Change from Henley Business School
Hilary's research focuses on gender diversity in corporate governance, evidenced by her authorship of the 'Women on FTSE 100 Boards' series and the '100 Women to Watch Report'. Her work examines coaching's role in accelerating women's progression to executive positions, combining academic rigor with practical talent development strategies.
She has received recognition as an Honorary Fellow of UCL for her contributions to business leadership.
Hilary mentors through the Kilfinan Group and delivers the Cranfield Non-Executive Director programme. Her governance expertise spans chairing major charities (KIDS, MS Society, King's College Hospital Charity) and advisory roles including the Institute of Directors board and Association of MBAs chairmanship.
