Dr. Hilary Earl is a Professor in the Department of History at Nipissing University's Faculty of Arts and Science, serving as Graduate Program Coordinator. She specializes in Modern European History with focus on Holocaust studies, war crimes trials, and perpetrator testimony analysis.
Her research examines state violence mechanisms through legal archives and comparative genocide frameworks. Current projects include 'Murder on the Beach: A Holocaust Atrocity Story' monograph and documentary film production about Šķēde executions.
Publications analyze evidentiary practices in historic trials and pedagogical approaches to genocide education. Her work received the Hans Rosenberg Book Prize and multiple SSHRC grants.
