Research Focus
Anderson's research examines perpetrator psychology in genocide, transitional justice mechanisms, and the criminology of mass violence. He employs sensitive fieldwork methodologies in post-conflict societies, recently focusing on child soldiers and international tribunals. Current projects include the SSHRC-funded Visual Narratives in Holocaust and Genocide Studies, creating graphic novels for atrocity education across seven countries.
Publication Trends
Anderson's scholarship consistently addresses perpetrator behavior, genocidal intent, and legal accountability. Recent works analyze the Dominic Ongwen trial (ICC), Yazidi persecution, and colonial violence patterns. Thematically, they explore judicial interpretation of crimes against humanity, moral disengagement in perpetrators, and decolonization conflicts, employing interdisciplinary socio-legal frameworks.
