Hilary Bok is an Associate Professor of Philosophy and Luce Professor in Bioethics and Moral and Political Theory at Johns Hopkins University. She directs the Bioethics Program and holds offices via Zoom Wednesdays 1:00-2:15 and by appointment. Her contact is hbok@jhu.edu at Gilman 278 (410-516-7020).
Education: BA from Princeton University, PhD in Philosophy from Harvard University. Previously taught at Pomona College.
Research focuses on ethics, bioethics, freedom of the will, and Kantian philosophy. Notable work includes the 1998 book Freedom and Responsibility and articles in moral and political theory. Received the Laurance S. Rockefeller fellowship.
