Dr. Hiep Tran is a Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at RMIT University's School of Engineering, based at the City Campus in Australia. His research focuses on semiconductor materials and devices, particularly wide bandgap semiconductors for applications in UVC photodetection, power electronics, and neuromorphic computing. He has held roles including Research Assistant at RMIT Vietnam and Duty Microscopist at RMIT University's Microscopy and Microanalysis Facilities. Dr. Tran's work emphasizes innovative materials and device design with applications in optoelectronics and energy-efficient systems.
Research interests include wide bandgap semiconductors, neuromorphic computing, and advanced semiconductor fabrication techniques. His publications span topics such as gallium oxide thin films, quantum transport models for ohmic contacts, and neuromorphic sensing systems. He is open to supervising Master's and PhD students in these areas.
