Dr. Hien Duong is a Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Sydney, specializing in nanotechnology-driven biomedical applications. Her work focuses on engineering nanomaterials for drug delivery and early disease detection. Previously, she held roles at the University of Technology Sydney (Senior Research Fellow) and UNSW (postdoctoral researcher).
Educations: PhD in Advanced Macromolecular Design (UNSW, 2007), Master's (Australian Development Scholarship, UNSW, 2003).
Research interests include polymer synthesis, nanomaterial fabrication for biomedical use, and fluorescence microscopy techniques for nanoparticle tracking. Key achievements include over 40 publications in journals like Nature Nanotechnology and ACS Nano.
Awards: Monash Engineering Women's Leadership Award (2015), Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship (2007). She mentors students in RAFT polymerization techniques and has supervised over 20 researchers.
