Professor Hestir Turns (University of California, Merced) is a leading researcher in biodiversity science, co-leading NASA’s first biodiversity campaign in the Greater Cape Floristic Region (GCFR) of South Africa. Her work focuses on leveraging NASA technology to map biological diversity and ecosystem structure, addressing the global extinction crisis.
