Dr. Hesham Marzouk is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University. He holds BSc (1972, Cairo University), MASc (1976) and PhD (1979) from the University of Saskatchewan. His career spans consulting work on major projects like the Hibernia oil platform before transitioning to academia.
Research focuses on ultra-high-strength concrete, structural health monitoring (using sensors for long-term infrastructure assessment), and offshore structural design. Key achievements include developing a crack-width estimation patent and pioneering work on fiber-reinforced composites.
