Herman Van de Mosselaer

Herman Van de Mosselaer holds a Master's degree in Psychological and Pedagogical Sciences from Ghent University (UGent, 1978). He spent 20 years as a Lecturer in educational sciences at a teacher training program before transitioning to administrative roles. He served as Head of Education and Quality Assurance (1999) and Head of Education and Research (2003). At Artesis Plantijn University College, he acted as Project Manager for Educational Research until his retirement in 2018, leading both internally and externally funded projects.

His expertise spans curriculum development, cooperative learning, democratic education, assessment strategies, and integrating ICT into educational practices. He developed the Goleweb system for online feedback and managed its implementation across secondary and higher education. Key projects include Kyss (2018–2021), focusing on soft skills development, and Teacher (2016–2020), investigating teacher design teams’ impact on student learning.

Herman’s work emphasizes practical applications of educational theory, including the Lemo and Kickstart instruments for learning coaching. He retired in 2018 but remains associated with ongoing projects and systems he pioneered.
