Herbert Myers serves as a Lecturer and Museum Registrar in the Department of Music at Stanford University, holding a D.M.A. from Stanford University.

His scholarly and artistic work centers on Early Music, with specialized expertise in Historical Performance Practice, Renaissance Music, Medieval Music, Viola da Gamba, and Recorder. Myers actively bridges academic research and performance practice through his dual role as educator and practitioner.
As a performer, he is a current member of The Whole Noyse and former member of New York Pro Musica Antiqua, with recordings released by Columbia, Orion, Intrada, and Musical Heritage Society. His publications span leading journals including Early Music, The American Recorder, Journal of the American Musical Instrument Society, The Galpin Society Journal, and Journal of the Viola da Gamba Society of America, alongside contributions to EMA Performance Guides.
