Herbert Mwebe is an Associate Professor of Mental Health and Senior Teaching Fellow in the School of Life and Health Sciences at Middlesex University, leading mental health nurse academics in pre/post-registration programmes and CPD delivery. He serves as Specialist Clinical Advisor to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for mental health inspections and Specialist Panel Member for His Majesty's Mental Health Review Tribunal.

Herbert's work centers on parity of esteem between mental and physical health, driving innovations in cardiometabolic risk monitoring for severe mental illness (SMI) patients and optimizing psychopharmacological practices. Concurrently, he addresses systemic inequities via investigations into mental health tribunal processes, workplace racism in the NHS, and culturally specific health promotion for Black/Asian communities, reflecting his commitment to health equity.
