معرفی
Herbert B. Silber is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at San José State University. He holds a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of California, Davis. His research focuses on coordination chemistry, particularly spectrophotometric studies of europium(III) complexation with amino acids and biologically relevant ligands in various solvent systems. Secondary interests include fullerene chemistry and nanostructure interactions.
Silber's publications consistently explore metal-ligand interactions using spectroscopic methods. His work spans lanthanide coordination chemistry in aqueous and methanol solutions, stability constant determination, and characterization of fullerene complexes with aromatic molecules. This body of work demonstrates expertise in thermodynamic analysis of complexation phenomena.
His research projects include directing the SJSU Bridges to the Baccalaureate Degree program and organizing Undergraduate Summer Schools in Nuclear and Radiochemistry, indicating engagement with undergraduate research training and nuclear science education.
