Professor Henryk Bujak, born on December 26, 1963, in Krapkowice, is a Polish agricultural scientist specializing in plant genetics and breeding. Affiliated with the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, he has held leadership roles including Head of the Department of Genetics, Plant Breeding and Seed Science (2006–present) and Head of the Department of Biometry and Plant Breeding (since 2008). He also served as Director of the Central Research Center for Cultivar Research in Słupia Wielka and held key positions in Polish agricultural policy committees.
- Education: MSc in Agricultural Engineering (1989) from Agricultural University in Wrocław; PhD (1997) and habilitation (2004) from Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences.
- Research focuses on quantitative trait inheritance in rye, molecular marker applications, xenia effects in hybrid breeding, doubled haploid line development, and genotype-environment interactions for yield stability.
- Contributed to establishing Poland's Post-Registration Variety Experimentation (PDO) system and led bilateral Polish-German agricultural research collaborations.
- Awarded the Silver Medal for Long Service (2011) and 14 Rector's awards for scientific, teaching, and organizational achievements.
