Henry Solares is a Lecturer in the Department of Anthropology at California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt. They are a first-generation graduate and former transfer student from Mt. SAC, holding both a bachelor's and master's degree from Cal Poly Humboldt's Anthropology program. Their research focuses on marginalized groups, sexualized violence prevention, peer mentoring, indigenous development, and visual anthropology through ethnofiction and photography. They previously served as a grant writer for the Yurok Tribe’s Planning Department during the COVID-19 pandemic, crediting their success to Indigenous collaborators’ mentorship.
