Henry Louis Gates Jr.

Henry Louis Gates Jr. is the Alphonse Fletcher, Jr. University Professor at Harvard University and Director of the Hutchins Center for African & African American Research. A renowned Emmy and Peabody Award-winning filmmaker, literary scholar, journalist, and cultural critic, he has made significant contributions to African American studies through his research, publications, and documentary films such as The Black Church and Gospel. He is also the host of the genealogy series Finding Your Roots, which explores the intersection of genetics and heritage.
