Henry Lee is the Jassim M. Jaidah Family Director of the Environment and Natural Resources Program at the Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, and a Senior Lecturer in Public Policy. He previously served in the Massachusetts State Government as Director of the Energy Office and Special Assistant to the Governor for Environmental Policy (1970–1979). His research focuses on energy policy, climate change, and infrastructure development, with a particular emphasis on China's energy transition and global environmental governance.
Key affiliations include the Belfer Center's Arctic Initiative and Decarbonization in China projects. Lee collaborates with institutions like the World Bank, U.S. EPA, and international governments. His work addresses electric vehicle adoption, renewable energy integration, and infrastructure resilience in developing nations.
Recent publications include Foundations for a Low-Carbon Energy System in China (2021) and analyses of EV market dynamics in the U.S. and China. His current research explores climate policy frameworks and sustainable infrastructure models.
