Henrike Florusbosch is a Lecturer in the Department of Afroamerican and African Studies and Anthropology at the University of Michigan. She currently serves as the inaugural manager of the e-Health and Artificial Intelligence program (e-HAIL), a joint initiative between the College of Engineering and the Medical School. Previously, she managed the African Studies Center and the U-M African Presidential Scholars (UMAPS) program. She holds a PhD in Africanist Anthropology from the University of Michigan (2011) and has taught at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands.
Her research focuses on ethnographic and community-engaged work in Mali, Senegal, Ghana, France, and Gabon. Her professional expertise includes grant development, higher education capacity building in Africa, and fostering academic partnerships across continents. She has extensive experience in strategic program management within international higher education sectors.
Key professional contributions include managing flagship university programs, developing grant proposals, and advancing interdisciplinary initiatives like e-HAIL. She has cultivated partnerships between academic institutions in Africa, Europe, and North America through her roles in program leadership and research.
