Henrik Schatzinger

Henrik Schatzinger is a Professor of Political Science, Chair of the Political Science Department, Director of the Center for Politics and the People, and Program Director for American Studies at Ripon College. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, an M.A. from the University of Kansas, and a B.A. from the University of Kiel, Germany.

His research focuses on campaigns, campaign finance, interest groups, and lobbying in American politics, particularly the role of money in political influence. He teaches courses such as American Politics and Government, Media and Politics, and Campaigns and Elections, emphasizing experiential learning through role-play and simulations.

Co-author of Game Changers: How Super PACs and Dark Money are Transforming U.S. Campaigns, he is currently completing a book on outside money in urban elections. As director of the Center for Politics and the People, he has organized over 100 events to promote constructive political dialogue.
