Henrik Jeldtoft Jensen

Henrik Jeldtoft Jensen is Professor of Complex Systems Science in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London, where he leads the Centre for Complexity Science. His interdisciplinary research spans statistical mechanics, evolutionary ecology, biological physics, neuroscience, and music cognition. Jensen investigates emergent phenomena across physical, biological and social systems using mathematical modeling approaches.

His influential work includes development of the Tangled Nature Model of evolutionary ecology and research on self-organized criticality. Current collaborations explore improvisation in classical music through computational and cognitive lenses. Jensen has authored the book Self-Organized Criticality and maintains broad interests in complex systems education and philosophy.
