Henrik Bøggild is an Associate Professor and Research Group Leader at Aalborg University, Department of Medicine and Health Technology, Faculty of Health Sciences. He is also affiliated as a Senior Physician and Epidemiologist at Aalborg University Hospital. His work spans public health, epidemiology, and clinical research, with a strong emphasis on health equity and organizational health systems.

His research focuses on psychosocial and clinical epidemiology, particularly health literacy, social inequality, occupational health, and register-based studies. He leads the development of health measurement tools, including those for digital and organizational health competence. His teaching spans epidemiology, statistics, and public health methods across bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD levels. He is actively involved in curriculum development and PBL project supervision.
The recent publications highlight a strong trend in digital health literacy, environmental health determinants, cardiovascular epidemiology, and innovative healthcare interventions. His work increasingly involves multinational collaborations, scale validation, and policy-relevant research, particularly in the context of WHO initiatives like M-POHL.
