Henrietta Ward

Henrietta Ward is an Affiliated Staff member and Assistant Keeper in the Paintings, Drawings, and Prints department at the Fitzwilliam Museum, part of the University of Cambridge. She specialises in 17th-century Dutch and Flemish art, with a focus on landscape and botanical themes. Her curatorial work includes exhibitions such as Making Waves: Discovering Seascapes through Drawings and Watercolours and Brueghel and his Time: Landscape Drawings from the Bruce Ingram Bequest. She is currently leading a research project on the Fitzwilliam Museum’s collection of flower paintings, botanical drawings, and floral miniatures.

Before joining the Fitzwilliam Museum in 2015, Ward held curatorial roles at Dulwich Picture Gallery and the National Gallery in London, where she contributed to the re-display of Dutch and Flemish collections at Manchester Art Gallery. She is a member of CODART, an international network for curators of Dutch and Flemish art.

Her educational background includes a BA (Hons) in History of Art from the University of Nottingham and an MA in History of Art from the University of Bristol.
