Henning Kristofer Kraggerud (born 1973) is a Professor of violin and viola at the Norwegian Academy of Music (NMH) in the Strings and Harp Department. He also serves as artistic director at the Arctic Philharmonic in Tromsø and holds the position of International Chair of Violin and Fellow at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester.
His research interests focus on violin and viola performance, creative approaches to music education, improvisation techniques, composition, and the societal role of art. Kraggerud advocates for holistic teaching methods that integrate improvisation and composition from the earliest stages of musical development, challenging traditional pedagogical approaches.
