Henk Schellen is an Associate Professor in Building Physics at Eindhoven University of Technology's Built Environment department. With expertise in monumental buildings, heritage conservation, and heat/moisture transfer, he focuses on experimental and numerical analysis of microclimates for cultural preservation.
- Key Research Areas: Monumental building physics, hygrothermal modeling, climate control systems, energy-efficient conservation
- Notable Collaborations: Anne Frank House, TNO, TU/e, national museums
His work bridges building technology with art preservation, using CFD modeling and field measurements to optimize climate conditions in historic structures. Recent projects examine display cases, repository airflow, and climate-induced damage mechanisms.
Selected Publications (2020-2022):
- 2022 - Experimental-numerical investigation of climate-induced damage in historical cabinet door panels
- 2021 - Indoor Airflow Distribution in Repository Design
- 2020 - Dynamic Hygrothermal Models for Monumental Buildings
