Hendry Susila is an Innovation Fellow at the ARC Training Centre for Future Crops Development, affiliated with the Research School of Biology (Division of Plant Sciences) at Australian National University (ANU). His research focuses on plant molecular mechanisms, particularly genetic pathways influencing growth, yield, and stress tolerance. He holds a B.Sc. from Universitas Gadjah Mada (Indonesia) and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Korea University.
Research Interests: Susila employs molecular and synthetic biology tools to study plant development, with emphasis on improving agronomic traits through genetic manipulation. His work integrates chloroplast signaling, temperature response pathways, and florigen regulation in Arabidopsis.
Key Projects: Leading the 'Building a Sustainable Future: Developing Nutritious and Climate-Resilient Crop Varieties' initiative (2023–2025), which aims to create crop cultivars adapted to environmental challenges.
Collaborations: Active in global plant biology networks, particularly in flowering time regulation, chloroplast interactions, and CRISPR-based genome editing frameworks. His work bridges fundamental discovery with applied agri-biotechnology solutions.
