Helén Egerhag is a faculty member at Linnaeus University’s Department of Education within the Faculty of Social Sciences. Her research focuses on reading development in Swedish as a second language (L2), emphasizing differentiated instruction and early interventions. She holds a doctoral degree from Linnaeus University (2023) and is part of the Research in Inclusion, Democracy and Equity (RIDE) group, which explores special and social pedagogy. Her work addresses multilingual learners, curriculum design, and evidence-based practices in education.
Her teaching responsibilities include special education programs and standalone courses, particularly targeting pedagogical strategies for diverse learners. She has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications since 2019, including a 2023 doctoral thesis examining interventions for L2 reading development.
Her research areas span second language acquisition, early childhood literacy, and inclusive education. Key projects include cross-sectional studies comparing L1 and L2 reading abilities, systematic reviews of SLA interventions, and RTI models for multilingual students.
