معرفی
Helmut Schlaad is a Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, where he has led research on controlled polymerization techniques and bioinspired polymers since 1999. He earned his chemistry diploma (1993) and Ph.D. (1997) at the University of Mainz, Germany, under Prof. Dr. Axel H. E. Müller, focusing on anionic polymerization of (meth)acrylates.
Research Interests: His work spans the development of controlled polymerization methods, modular synthetic pathways, and "thio-click" chemistry; advanced characterization of functional polymers; and the study of structure formation in bioinspired (co-)polymers via non-covalent interactions. He has contributed to innovations in anionic polymerization systems and cationic polymerization kinetics.
Academic Career Highlights:
- 1993: Chemistry Diploma, University of Mainz
- 1997: Ph.D. in Anionic Polymerization, University of Mainz
- 1998–1999: Postdoctoral Research on Cationic Polymerization, University of Massachusetts at Lowell
