Helga Varden is a Professor of Philosophy, Gender and Women’s Studies, Political Science, and affiliated with the Unit for Criticism and Interpretive Theory and the Center for the Study of Global Gender Equity at the University of Illinois. She holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Toronto (2006) and multiple advanced degrees from Arctic University of Norway and the London School of Economics. Her research focuses on Kantian ethics applied to political obligation, feminist philosophy, legal theory, and contemporary moral issues like gender identity, animal ethics, and privacy.
