Helene Larsen

Helene Larsen is a Researcher at the Department of Health Technology, Technical University of Denmark, and serves as Head of Center at the Center for Diagnostics. She is affiliated with the DTU Microbes Initiative and contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in health and environmental sustainability.

Research interests focus on diagnostic virology, molecular microbiology, and environmental monitoring technologies. Her work spans SARS-CoV-2 diagnostics, high-throughput DNA chip development for aquaculture systems, and sustainable diagnostic workflows.

Recent publications highlight advancements in RT-qPCR optimization, water quality monitoring in recirculated aquaculture systems (RAS), and rapid antigen test validation against RT-PCR standards.

Collaborations include supervision of PhD student Li, H. and participation in multi-institutional projects assessing diagnostic technologies.
