Helene Bøsei Olsen is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oslo's Department of Informatics, affiliated with the Language Technology Group. Her research focuses on natural language processing applications for socio-political event analysis and dialect identification.
Her primary research investigates computational methods for extracting socio-political events from text and identifying Arabic dialects using error analysis techniques. Current projects include developing datasets for conflict event tracking and improving dialect identification systems.
Recent publications demonstrate focus on Arabic NLP challenges and generative approaches to event extraction in multilingual contexts. Her work contributes to improving NLP systems for low-resource languages and dialects.
