Helena Teede is a Research Professor and Director of the Monash Centre for Health Research & Implementation at Monash University. She also serves as an Endocrinologist at Monash Health and holds honorary professorships at the University of Birmingham and University of Warwick. Her roles include leadership in healthcare, academia, and policy, with memberships in national and international committees. She has been awarded the Order of Australia for contributions to women’s health and is a Fellow of multiple medical colleges.
Prof Teede’s education includes an MBBS, PhD, and advanced fellowships (FRACP, FRANZCOG, FRCOG). Her research focuses on women’s health, metabolic disorders (e.g., PCOS, gestational diabetes), implementation science, and healthcare equity. She has led over 95 research projects and published 660+ outputs, emphasizing translation of evidence into clinical guidelines and policy.
Her work spans 71 countries, prioritizes community and consumer involvement (CCI), and includes leadership in advancing women’s roles in healthcare. She has supervised 55 PhD students and received Monash’s Vice Chancellor award for supervision. Current initiatives include the ‘Advancing Women in Healthcare’ program and leadership training with international reach.
Key awards include the Order of Australia, FAAHMS fellowship, and recognition for international engagement. Her research addresses global health challenges, including diabetes prevention, reproductive health equity, and healthcare system improvements through data-driven solutions.
