Helena Gata is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Lisbon's School of Economics and Management (ISEG/ULisboa) and researcher at ISEG Research. Her work focuses on Employment Dynamics, Labor Market Inclusion, and Social Entrepreneurship. She holds a PhD in Economic and Organizational Sociology from ISEG/ULisboa (2022), a Master's in International Cooperation (2006), and a Sociology degree from the University of Porto (1998). She completed INSEAD's Social Entrepreneurship Program (2010).
- Teaches Sociology of Work, Ethics, and Leadership across undergraduate/graduate programs.
- Coordinates ISEG's Inclusive Academy (Different Minds), fostering higher education and job market inclusion for individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
With 17 years as an NGO executive director, she specialized in strategic project management across Portugal, PALOPs (Portuguese-speaking African countries), and Europe. Her research on employment policies and social impact strategies has influenced public institutions like IEFP.
Professional experience includes roles as Director of REDE DLBC, ESLIDER Project Manager, and researcher at Fundação Fé e Cooperação. Active in international development projects in Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, and other countries.
