Helena Bacon is a Lecturer and Co-Course Leader for Digital Film Production and Screenwriting at the University of Suffolk's School of Technology, Business and Arts. She holds a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing from the University of East Anglia, alongside a BA from Manchester Metropolitan University and an MA from University College London. Her research focuses on Gothic and horror fiction/film, nuclear cultures, energy humanities, and the Western film genre. She has published widely in journals like Horror Studies, Gothic Studies, and Green Letters, and is currently preparing her monograph Nuclear Gothic: Textual and Cultural Fusions (Anthem Press, 2026).
