Helen N. LaVan is a Professor in the Department of Management & Entrepreneurship at DePaul University's Driehaus College of Business. She has taught since December 1969 and was the college’s first woman graduate teaching assistant.
- Education: PhD in Organizational Behavior from Loyola University (1978), MBA in Human Resource Management from DePaul University (1969), MA in Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University (1996), BS in Industrial Administration from University of Illinois (1967)
Her research focuses on workplace dynamics, including employee relations, bullying, discrimination, and arbitration. She also contributes to career counseling and human resource practices.

- Wicklander Fellowship for Business Ethics Research
- Spirit of Inquiry Award (2010)
LaVan has consulted for private, nonprofit, and family-owned businesses on HR selection and training. She co-founded a résumé development program that has assisted over 3,000 individuals and remains a licensed counselor in Illinois.
