Helen Kirk is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Victoria and a Research Officer at NRC Herzberg. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Victoria (2009). Her research focuses on local star formation at submillimetre and radio wavelengths, with expertise in dense gas structures (cores/filaments), clustering dynamics, astrochemistry, and comparisons between observational data and simulations.
Her work includes creating synthetic observations from simulations to refine predictions and improve comparisons. Currently, she collaborates with the Millimetre Astronomy Group to enhance accessibility of ALMA data for Canadian astronomers. She has no listed awards or grants in the provided texts.
