Dr Helen Cramman is an Associate Professor in the School of Education at Durham University and Head of the Evaluation and Innovation in STEM Education (EISE) national research group. She holds additional roles as Lead for Education Researcher Development in the Durham Centre for Academic Development (DCAD), Department Representative, and Fellow of the Durham Research Methods Centre. Her expertise spans skills development in STEM education, program evaluation, and inclusive education environment impact analysis. With over 20 years’ experience, she specializes in leading research projects, education development workshops, and evaluations of national initiatives such as the Levelling Up Widening Participation program and the ESPRC-funded Northern Power Inclusion Matters Programme.
Her research interests focus on enhancing education environments for learners and educators through evidence-based strategies. She has published extensively on pandemic impacts on practical science education, quantum literacy, and the co-development of mathematics and reading skills in primary education. Key awards include fellowships from the Higher Education Academy and Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing.
