معرفی
Helen Cooper is a Professor of Mass Spectrometry within the Biosciences department at the University of Birmingham. Her research focuses on advancing mass spectrometry techniques for biomolecular and chemical structural analysis, with particular emphasis on proteomics, peptide fragmentation, and post-translational modifications.
- Research Areas: Native ambient mass spectrometry, membrane protein characterization, tissue imaging, and development of surface sampling methods.
Her recent publications highlight applications in Neuroscience (e.g., SOD1-metal complexes in ALS models), Structural Biology (membrane protein analysis from bacterial colonies), and Computational Biology (high-throughput data deconvolution). She leads grants from the Wellcome Trust and EPSRC for projects including spatial biology platforms and native spectrometry for membrane proteins.
- Scientific Awards:
- Leverhulme International Professorship Grant (Co-Investigator)
- Collaborations: Works with institutions like the Biotechnology & Biological Sciences Research Council, Leverhulme Trust, and international partners on structural biology initiatives.
